Last week we hosted our supported doctors in Orlando for our 2016 Winter Conference. This event serves as a continuing education opportunity where attendees hear from Heartland Dental leaders, as well as leaders in business and dentistry.

The conference kicked off on Thursday with our inaugural Doctor Mastery Program (DMP) Summit. This session was held exclusively for DMP participants and highlighted topics designed to support their success in the program.

On Friday, founder, Dr. Rick Workman and President and CEO, Pat Bauer, opened the day with the State of the Company. Following their address, attendees were offered a number of breakout sessions to attend, which included presentations on case acceptance, leadership in the office, Home Office support and digital dentistry. Our leadership keynote was Charles Duhigg, author of “Smarter, Faster, Better” & “The Power of Habit.” We also welcomed President and CEO of Patterson Companies, Inc., Scott Anderson, who spoke on our recent relationship. The day ended in celebration with our annual holiday party.

Dr. John Cranham, our clinical keynote, wrapped up the Winter Conference on Saturday with a presentation on complex dental cases.

Memorable highlights:

  • This year we welcomed 47 vendors to the Winter Conference. The most we’ve ever had!
  • We unveiled the pledge wall where supported doctors made commitments to give back to their communities.
  • Dr. Workman and Pat Bauer pledged to develop the Heartland Dental Foundation and contribute the first $50,000.
  • The Team Mastery Program was announced. This program will support team members on their quest to growing themselves personally and professionally.
  • Patterson Dental donated $25,000 towards Free Dentistry Day efforts.

What a great way to end a wonderful year. We’re looking forward to what’s to come in 2017!
