We are proud of our achievements and remain focused on providing the resources and opportunities needed to support our doctors and their teams as they care for their communities."
A Year of Significant Growth
In 2024, Heartland Dental experienced substantial growth through its affiliation and de novo programs, surpassing 1,800 supported practices for the first time. The company welcomed 31 new supported practices through affiliation, spanning Florida, Missouri, Washington, Minnesota, Michigan, Oregon, Maryland, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania.
Additionally, Heartland Dental collaborated to open 105 state-of-the-art dental practices, including 16 relocations and 89 new supported offices, further increasing access to high-quality dental care in key growth markets across 22 states, including Heartland Dental’s first supported practice in Utah.
This growth has allowed thousands of supported doctors and team members to benefit from enhanced resources, educational opportunities, and cutting-edge technology, further elevating patient care and practice success.
Innovations in Dental Care
Heartland Dental remained at the forefront of dental innovation by integrating advanced technologies to help supported doctors enhance patient outcomes, streamline practice operations, and support clinician work-life balance.
The company's partnership with VideaHealth and Henry Schein One, provided over 20,000 supported doctors, hygiene providers, and team members with access to cutting-edge AI technology to support diagnosis, treatment planning, patient communications, and workflow management. Complementing these advancements, Curodont—an innovative solution from vVARDIS—leverages proprietary biomimetic technology to non-invasively repair incipient decay and promote enamel remineralization, leading to remarkable success among supported doctors.
“Our continued partnership with VideaHealth, a leader in dental AI technology, is significant for Heartland Dental as we continue to innovate and create opportunities for supported doctors to enhance the quality of care they provide to their patients. By providing supported practices with the opportunity to add Dentrix Detect AI powered by VideaHealth into their offices, Heartland supported clinicians are empowered with cutting-edge tools that improve diagnostic accuracy, streamline workflows, and ultimately enhance patient outcomes,” shared Tim Quirt, DDS, MBA, SVP of Clinical Operations.
In 2024, Heartland Dental also partnered with Kwikly Dental Staffing, to develop HDflex, an innovative staffing solution available to supported practices addressing the growing demand for patient care while supporting clinician work-life balance. HDflex enables hygienists and dental assistants to pick up shifts at other supported offices, ensuring consistent access to a trusted, skilled talent pool.
Always Learning. Always Leading.
Heartland Dental's dedication to continuous learning and professional development was exemplified through the exceptional progress of Heartland Dental University (HDU). In 2024, HDU offered 1,300 CE courses with over 76,000 course completions across supported doctors and team members. HDU’s programs continue to empower dental professionals on their journey – personally and professionally, staying at the forefront of advancements in dentistry.
Giving Back
Heartland Dental and its supported practices partner closely with The Heartland Dental Foundation to live their commitment to giving back to the communities they serve.
In 2024, the Heartland Dental Foundation coordinated 3 mission trips to Jenkins, Kentucky, and Mission Lazarus in Honduras, where supported doctors, hygienists, and DAs provide essential dental care to underserved populations.
Moreover, the Heartland Dental Foundation provided $326,595 in hardship grants to 171 team members during 2024, offering vital financial assistance to those facing unexpected personal hardships. These grants underscore Heartland Dental’s unwavering commitment to supporting its team members during challenging times.
The company’s Free Dentistry Day program coordinated over 300 events in 2024, with supported offices providing over $2.7 million in free dental care. Heartland Dental's Companywide Free Dentistry Day success was greatly facilitated by generous dental supply donations from industry leaders, Henry Schein Cares, Leixir Dental Lab Group, Envista, and Colgate. This collaboration underscores the shared commitment of these companies to empower supported doctors in addressing the dental hygiene needs of underserved communities.
